WHY IRMCO® LUBRICANT OUTPERFORMS TRADITIONAL OILS.
This graph compares the difference between IRMCO products and traditional oil type stamping/forming lubricants(OIL).
The more demanding the metal forming operation the thicker or more viscous traditional oil product is required. The reason for this is quite simple, oil thins down when heated during metal forming, so you need a thick starting point to have enough lubrication at the critical point of work.
When the forming process is complete the oil reverts back to its starting viscosity and so we have a formed metal component with a coating of heavy oil which will need aggresive cleaning for any follow on processes.
IRMCO products do not require a thick starting viscosity because when heat is applied the high solid polymers (HSP)thicken up and attach to the metal surfaces creating a friction reducing film barrier.
The (HSP) maintains a protective barrier and allows the form tool to stretch and form metal without splitting or metal pick up, during the most demanding metal forming operations.
All IRMCO products are applied in a thin coating, when the part is formed we have minimal residue of non oil lubricant, with the easiest of cleaning processes. SIMPLY WATER.
Any standard mild akaline cleaning process will have no problems removing the IRMCO lubricant even to aerospace standards of cleanliness SEE VIDEO.

WELD WITHOUT WASH
Oil free surfaces provide an improved condition for welding and assembly.Studies using Mig, Tig and resistance welding techniques have proven that welding can be achieved without prior washing. Weld rejects due to lubricant caused porosity are significantly reduced.
